EuroScope Plugins Guide

This page covers the basic functions of plugins used in the EVRR FIR sector file on a daily basis. Although these plugins will not be explained in detail, this page should set an expectation of the functionality of the plugins required for use in EVRR FIR.

TopSky

TopSky is an equivalent of a real life radar software modification that is used for complex analysis of radar airspace. This plugin assists controllers in EVRR FIR to pre-plan their actions and provide appropriate separation to traffic within the FIR. The plugin also incorporates NOTAM-tracking, display of AMC managed airspace segments, and DCL/CPDLC functions.

Connection to the Datalink

A controller providing datalink services shall establish a datalink connection as soon as reasonably practicable after beginning of their session. The connection can be established through the TopSky settings ribbon on the radar control view of the sector file (hotkey F1 and then 1). The connection dialog is available by accessing the “Settings” menu and clicking the “CPDLC Setting” button. A visual representation is provided below.

ATS units providing PDC services shall adhere to the following instructions. A visual representation is provided further.

  • Logon code EVRA must be used.
  • DCL/PDC services shall be enabled (without automatic issuance), CPDLC services shall be disabled.

ATS units providing CPDLC services shall adhere to the following instructions. A visual representation is provided further.

  • Logon code shall match the respective ATS unit’s radar sector.
  • DCL/PDC services shall be enabled (without automatic issuance), CPDLC services shall be enabled (without automatic establishment of connections).

Ground Radar Plugin

This plugin is required for maintaining a systematic approach to Ground Movement Control. It includes such features as selective label drawing, automatic stand assignments and additional view display for GMC ATCOs.
