ATS Unit Staffing Policy

Latvia vACC enforces staffing of ATS units in line with the VATSIM Code of Conduct Section C5, VATSIM Europe Division Policy, and VATSIM Europe Division Training Policy. The following provisions apply to all ATCOs wishing to staff an ATS unit in EVRR FIR as well as to the ATS units themselves.

  • ATS units are staffed on a “first come” basis in line with the aforementioned policies.
  • Should a position booking be made through official vACC mediums or a roster be published by the vACC Event Department for an event, they shall take priority over any and all ATCOs not listed in said booking/roster. Rosters shall always maintain the highest priority in determining staffing.
  • ATC training sessions shall have priority over regular controlling sessions if required by a member of the vACC ATC Training Department.
  • ATS units bearing multiple frequencies or sectors shall be staffed beginning with the designated primary sector/frequency. Subsectors (non-primary sectors) and non-primary frequencies may not be staffed unless the primary sector/frequency is staffed or a written exception was issued by either the vACC Administrative Staff or the vACC Event Coordinator.
  • All disputes and conflicts regarding staffing of ATS units are resolved by the vACC ATC Training Director or a vACC member to whom such duties and responsibilities have been delegated in writing.
